Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you all know Nebraska is turning out to be great! I've been to a plethora of different lakes in the area in the few weeks that I've lived here with my sisters, brother and and their parents all in different configurations of attendance :o) I've been applying sunscreen frequently and am proud to say I haven't gotten a sunburn yet! That's a new record for me!!
My new address is: 2107 West A Street, North Platte, NE 69101
My phone number will remain the same at: 314.753.0161
We've arrived! And now the moving men have arrived too!
My sister Emilie heads out to Denver on Friday to start her Up With People journey of 6 months, so tension and emotions are high right now. Everyone is a little on edge, as it is an exciting yet scary time for her and everyone who will miss her. We all are going to head out on a road trip to Denver on Friday morning and return on Saturday to drop her off and visit some family friends while in town. Maybe we'll even sneak in some "big town" shopping too! Who knows?
Kylie is adjusting well. She has a new and quite fashionable pink and white polka dotted life jacket for our many lake visits. It's pretty cute. She also has an official Huskers shirts, as do I. It was a "Welcome to Your New Home" present from Dawn, Todd and the kids. So sweet!
I'm loving the smaller town life. I can walk to the grocery to pick up a gallon of milk or dinner. Also located in the same plaza is Blockbuster, a pharmacy, a Hallmark, a Ben Franklin and a great little eatery called Vic's Corn Popper. They have amazing salads and other great foods for good prices and it seems like quite the hot spot.
I'm still in the process of unpacking! Imagine that ;o) My sister, Haley, is helping me slowly, but surely though. All the kids really love the fact that I live less than a mile away and we've spent so much time together. It's been just amazing and really made me realize what a great decision I made to take the chance and move up here.
Well, I just got back from the gym and Haley wants to start unpacking some more, so I'd better sign off.
I love and miss you all greatly! Please know that. I'd love hearing back from you on how life in the Lou is, but please keep in mind these kids keep me more busy than I'm used to and I'm not on the computer nearly as much...I'm hardly ever at home, actually. I'll write back when I can though.
Love and kisses,
Melissa
