It's been quite some time since I last updated all my peeps out there!
First and foremost, I want you all to know that I miss each and every one of you dearly.
Making the move to Nebraska has been a whirlwind to say the least. There have been adventures in paperwork galore, trips to the lake, attendance at church!!, lots of smiles, quite a few tears, and many memories made already.
After landing the teaching job and getting a place to live all secured in one night, I knew the other shoe was sure to drop at some point. I just didn't realize it would make such a thud when it did. The Nebraska Teaching Certification office has given me a run for my money (literally!) and time and on several occasions I almost went out and bought a Voodoo doll. *sigh* I am pretty sure all we are waiting on now is a piece of paper from the FBI saying I'm not a criminal and never have been for that matter. Officially, I am legally allowed to go teach my children and speak with their parents and evaluate them until that pesky piece of paper flies in. So, that's a relief!
I am completely unpacked (thanks to the threats from my dear mother and my baby sister, Haley)!! It feels like home and I love it here. Kylie is settling in quite comfortably and has quite the social life already :o) She enjoys visiting the Grothe's house to play with the three Brittney Spaniels they have there: Thorson, Skadi and Loki. She is now the "little dog" and actually seems to enjoy it because now she can run and jump and wrestle without having me telling her settle down in fear that she'd break her friend (i.e. Keno!!). She's barking more. That's not such a pleasant thing, but I bet it makes her feel real grown up!
I don't want to tell you everything now, so I'll sign off for tonight. I want to say to all of you who try tirelessly to get in touch with me, that I love you and I miss you, but I'm sorry I never hear my phone or get a chance to call you back. Hopefully this will be a good way for you all to know what's going on in the exciting town of North Platte.
Good Night and all my love until next time! ~Melissa
